PC Salmon Kicked by a Drunk

Sam Adams pleaded guilty to a charge of being drunk and disorderly on the night of the 4th inst., at Witham.

He was fined 5s. and 4s. 6d. costs.

Defendant was also charged with assaulting P.c Salmon while in the execution of his duty. Salmon stated that he was in charge of the police-station gate when the defendant was brought in by other constables; defendant kicked him violently on the thigh, from the effects of which he was still suffering.

Defendant, who said he remembered nothing whatever about it, was fined 15s. and costs 4s 6d.
