Police Station Information

Great Dunmow was opened in and closed in

The police station at Great Dunmow was erected in 1843, only three years of the foundation of the force. At a cost of £1,200, the station was the first in the constabulary's estate to be purpose built

The station incorporated a court-room in which the Petty Sessions were held on the first Monday of every month.

Some time before June 1936, Mr. Hasler J.P. paid for a very fine billiards table to be installed at Dunmow police station, used by Saffron Walden District officers in their regular billiards competitions with other local teams.1
